Outstanding Morab Colt has incredible Champion Family!
We never dreamed this could ever happen! A son of the amazing Morab mare, DAF Bay Sassy, now belongs to Liberty Mtn. Ranch! Sassy has been winning since she was two years old. In her mid-teens Sassy was brought back into the show ring as a Half Arab. She immediately began winning, with Regional Top Fives and National Top Tens in Hunter and Hunt Seat Equitation. Within two years, she went to the top - Regional Champion and NATIONAL CHAMPION Hunter, carrying 10 year old Rebecca Tinsman, and nursing a foal! Sassy is 22 years old now, and DAF Stings Coda is her only intact son. A huge step forward in the breeding of quality Morabs will be the pairing of Coda with the daughters of our champion Morab mare, Desiderata's Dawn, in particular the ones sired by Mary Mels Mystery. This will not only give us 50/50 Morabs, but they will be third generation Gold Seals on both sides with two of the top champion Morab mares in the country as their granddams! Yes, the Morab breed has come a long way. Keep checking back as we add new pictures and information -
Take a look at the information on Coda's family below, and you will see the outstanding breeding in his bloodlines. This is no ordinary Morab colt.

DAF BAY SASSY - Morab mare
Pictured winning her National Championship with 10 year old Rebecca Tinsman in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dam of DAF Stings Coda, new Morab stud colt at Liberty Mtn. Ranch. Sassy's class in this show started with 55 horses and riders - all of whom had to qualify at their Regionals around the nation just to be in this class. Sassy had won a Regional Championship to qualify for this show.

There were three cuts done before they finally named the Top Ten. Out of that Top Ten, they finally named their Reserve National Champion and their National Champion....Sassy! It was a long class with both purebred Arabians and Half Arabians - most of the entries had professional trainers with them. Sassy was the only horse in the Top Ten who was being handled and ridden by her own breeders/trainers/owners. That good Morab sensibility won the day for her. Before they left the show, they turned down an offer of fifty thousand dollars for her. Annetta Tinsman told me, "That mare will DIE on my place!" Quite a compliment considering Annetta owns and breeds top Arabs as well as several other breeds of horses.
Sassy's Arabian bloodlines include legendary greats *Ansata Ibn Halima++, Bay-Abi (National Champion), and Bay El Bey (National Champion). Her Morgan lines are almost pure Lipptt with some tight breeding to Lippitt George Moro and Lippitt Ethan Ann. A little bit of Kings River breeding is thrown in there, too.
Some of Sassy's major wins include: 1996 US National Top Ten Hunter; 1996 Region IX Reserve Champion Hunter, Region IX Reserve Champion Hunt Seat; 1997 Region IX Hunt Seat Champions, Region IX Top Five Hunter; 1997 US National Top Ten Hunt Seat, US National Top Ten Hunter, 1997 US National Champion Hunter Pleasure. Also wins in Halter, Western Pleasure, Stock Seat Equitation, and Trail. Sassy's younger full brother, DAF Comet, is also a winner in Halter and Performance. Sassy and Comet today take care of their riders on the trail and in the handicapped program at Daystar.

Champion Arabian stallion, Aladdinn's Sting
Sire of DAF Stings Coda, Aladdinn's Sting (now deceased) was the son of U.S. National Champion *Aladdinn (imported). *Aladdinn has the distinction of being a National Champion in another country (Sweden) before he won in this country. Sting's dam was equally royally bred, being a daughter of the great National Champion Gai Parada+++ who is the only stallion to win a Performance National Championship before he won his Halter National Championship. Adding to this pedigree of National Champions is the dam's dam who was sired by the National Champion Azraff, who was known for his daughters and their ability to produce. Sting was a Class A Halter Champion, and Champion in Show Hack and Native Costume. And he was Regional Reserve Champion in Hunter Pleasure. His Arabian, Half Arabian and Morab get have won at the National and Regional levels with some winning their Legion of Supreme Merit. His get are proving to be very athletic, winning in dressage, show hack, country pleasure, western pleasure and endurance rides. Sting was almost 16 hands, and his foals tend to be on the tall side, as well. Coda's 2 year old full brother, EchoAladd, is already 15 hands.

Morab mare, DAF Aladdadawn, Coda's full sister
DAF Aladdadawn, oldest full sister to DAF Stings Coda, was winning multiple Top Tens/Fives at Regionals and Nationals from the very start of her show ring career (Half Arab). Top Ten Oklahoma Breeder's Sweepstakes; 1996 Champion Half Arab Western Pleasure at AOK; 1996 Top Ten Hunter Pleasure; 1996 Region IX Top Five Hunt Seat Equitation; 1997 US National Top Ten Hunt Seat. Many wins and placings in Showmanship, Half Arab Hunter Pleasure, Western Walk-Trot, Stock Seat Walk-Trot, and Halter. She is now in Louisiana, starting a new career as a hunter jumper.

Morab mare, DAF Aladda Jazmin
Coda's older full sister, DAF Aladda Jazmin, is also a winning member of his family. Region IX Top Ten Breeder's Sweepstakes, Oklahoma Reserve Champion Half Arab Futurity, 1996 Region IX Top Five Sweepstakes, and more. She is a younger mare so she still has many wins to come.

Morab gelding, DAF EchoAladd
Just a two year old in 2004, Coda's older full brother, DAF Echo Aladd, is already 15 hands. He is the first boy that Sassy ever had. Echo Aladd is now owned by a rider who has already taken a Sting baby, an Arabian, to Legion of Supreme Merit. Arizona Aladd+++ was Reserve National Champion Show Hack Open. He also had Regional Championships in Show Hack and Country Pleasure. Sadly, Arizona Aladd+++ died unexpectedly in November 2003, and Coda's brother, DAF Echo Aladd, is now replacing him. We look forward to hearing great things about Echo Aladd with his new owner!

*ALADDINN, U.S. and Swedish National Champion
*Aladdinn is Coda's amazing paternal grandsire! *Aladdinn is the only U.S. National Champion Stallion to also be a National Champion Stallion of a foreign country (Sweden). He is the leading living Polish sire of champions, with 266 champions and 63 National winners through 1997. *Aladdinn has sired 24 National Champions, and is the only stallion in breed history to sire four U.S. National Champion Stallions. *Aladdinn sons have sired National Champions in halter and many different performance disciplines, & 30 daughters have produced National winners.

Like mother, like daughter....
Can you tell which is which? This is the National Champion DAF Bay Sassy with her daughter, DAF Aladdadawn, at a show. Some people say that Morabs don't reproduce themselves after the first generation....we think this pictures proves they're wrong. Even the same white foot. We expect the same from Coda - reproducing quality all the way down.

DAF STINGS CODA - the look of eagles!
Coda's fine head shows the quality - without being touched by the hand of man. The large dark soft eye; the width between the eyes; the cleaness of the head; the large and fine nostrils; the width between the well-shaped ears; good length of head; well developed jowl; clean throat latch; and the way he looks at you right down into your soul....you can feel his intelligence.
You can see the Morgan in him, and you can see the Arabian - the well-blended Morab look belongs to Coda! This picture was taken when he was a weanling in 2003.

DAF STINGS CODA
Taken when he was only a few weeks old, you can already see the strong points in this colt. He stands over a lot of ground with good length of neck, well set onto well laid back shoulders. A clean, chisled head with excellent expression. A long well-muscled hip, short cannon bones, and clean legs. Smoothly blended throughout, and those great Morab feet! Add to this his sweet and willing disposition, and you have a colt that is going to be a stallion that will make the Morab breed proud in the years to come.
